As reported by Autumn Pitchure of WMMT News Channel 3, Kalamazoo, Michigan-area leaders recently celebrated 10 years of the ValleyHUB Food Hub, an initiative the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) hopes to model statewide through the newly launched Good Food for Michigan project.

“We’re looking to highlight a lot of the things that are working well in specific communities and taking that all across the state,” MDARD Director Tim Boring said. “Breaking down some of these continued barriers to procurement at institutions, like schools or hospitals and working then with farmers to be able to have better access to local food markets and products.”
